Welcome to the SMSD Student Chamber's Business Showcase! This is an inspiring business competition designed to highlight PK-12 students who run REAL businesses in the Shawnee Mission School District. The top five business owners with the most votes and highest judge ratings will present their business ideas to a panel of esteemed judges and a vibrant audience on April 30.

Awards at the live April 30 Business Showcase are:

1st Place: $1,100
2nd Place: $600
3rd Place: $300

Students are challenged to answer the following questions with their pitch:

Part 1: Describe the problem and products/services that you are selling (including pricing).
Part 2: Describe your target market.
Part 3: Customer Reach/Channels
Part 4: Competition and what makes you different?

Sobre nosotros

My name is David Brown, and I’m a sophomore at Shawnee Mission South and a nationally ranked competitive powerlifter (#2 in my division). I run a Christian-based personal training business that focuses on real, sustainable progress, not quick fixes or flashy trends. I combine proven strength training methods with faith-driven encouragement to help people reach their fitness goals in an authentic, trustworthy way.

Problema

Many beginners feel nervous, confused, or insecure in the gym. They aren’t sure if they’re using proper form, they worry about getting hurt or judged, and they don’t know how to create a simple plan they can stick to, so,
I will be selling subscription-based fitness and nutrition services. You will pay every month and receive a workout plan for each week (so, 3-4 programs every month). You can choose a workout plan, a nutrition plan, or both.

I also offer a one-time purchase option for a 1-week program, priced at $35.00.
Additionally, you can purchase one-on-one consulting with me via video for $29.99. But I will always be available via text messages to support you between sessions.

The workout plan subscription is $29.99 per month.
The nutrition plan subscription is $29.99 per month.
If you choose both the workout and nutrition plans together, it’s $49.99 per month.

Solución

My target market is fitness beginners between the ages of 18 and 30 in the USA who feel uncomfortable or unsure in the gym and want a supportive trainer to teach proper form, boost their confidence, and design an easy-to-follow workout plan.

Mercado objetivo

I will reach customers by posting short fitness videos and tips on Instagram and TikTok to attract beginners who feel unsure in the gym and talk to classmates who want to get started.
I will also be available via text with current clients.

My competition includes: Chiefs Fit, Nick Bolton Fitness, BioFit, Frontdoor Fitness, Brickyard Fitness, and Other large gym companies.

Próximos pasos

So far I have... Researched local demand for personal training and identified my ideal client profile. Created a basic brand concept and started building our online presence. Trained and studied best practices in fitness programming. Next, I will need help with finalizing pricing and packages, setting up booking and payment, and onboarding our first clients.
