Welcome to the SMSD Student Chamber's Business Showcase! This is an inspiring business competition designed to highlight PK-12 students who run REAL businesses in the Shawnee Mission School District. The top five business owners with the most votes and highest judge ratings will present their business ideas to a panel of esteemed judges and a vibrant audience on April 30.
Awards at the live April 30 Business Showcase are:
1st Place: $1,100
2nd Place: $600
3rd Place: $300

I’ve been doing makeup for years and started getting real customers around 5 years ago. It all started when I would watch my mom do her makeup and i’d sneak and put it on and get in trouble for playing in it and not asking first. Then I asked to play in it, and she’d say yes. Once she saw I was getting better and better at it, and liked doing makeup. She let me do her makeup and put me in a makeup class. I got my certificate, and I took off from there. Now, I think I might want to add on to my business and create makeup, things like lipsticks, lip gloss, eyeshadows, powders, and more.
Problème
People need their makeup done for events. People don’t recognize young business owners. People need low prices for good work.
Solution
I’m always available to provide services for events. We can choose your date and time and if there’s a certain location, I can come to you. I’m not as expensive as other Makeup Artists, and I don’t charge extra for certain things.
Marché cible
Everyone! Teens, young adults, middle-aged people, older people, Boys and girls.
Some clients like big lashes ,some don’t, some like full glam
And some want a natural look. They want a light brow or a dark brow.
Some want glitter, cut creases, and eyeshadows. I do whatever the client wants done.

I’m creative and open-minded to new ideas. Unique technique and knowledge. Diversification of products or services. The diverse set of customers. Good ( low) pricing for services. Being young and being able to keep up with the newest trends out. .

This was a fantastic pitch! You showed how informed you are about the market space you are entering by understanding and adding in the gamification that comes with your mascot.

Your video is grate and shows how much work you have put in to a Cotten candy business! I did get lost when reading the written submission as it covers skin care products and not cotton candy. This discrepancy made the pitch unclear but a simple update and clarification would get you back on track in no time.
