À propos de nous

Hello, my name is Joy Partin, and I am a senior at Shawnee Mission West. I am the founder of Joy’s Jewelry. I create polymer clay jewelry that brings people together.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I wanted to create. I wanted a project that would consume my time and also make a difference in my community, although we could be face to face with on another.

So I started the brand Joy’s Jewelry. A place where I can be creative and create jewelry that is high quality yet on the more affordable end in pricing. I wanted teachers to easily be able to afford custom pieces of jewelry that reflect their style and their school community.

Problème

Educators who love jewelry and their schools do not have a way to show off their school and/or pride through jewelry. This is the reason why I learned how to hand paint and create company logos.

Through a process that involves online design, a Cricut machine, and the right supplies, a logo can be hand-painted onto the lightweight polymer clay base for any and every customer.

Affordable jewelry was also a concern when I began, so I wanted to create a product that uses cheaper supplies but still makes a durable and long-lasting product for my customers.

Solution

I have been a business owner for 5 years, I was and am ready to take on these new challenges.

I have relationships with those in our school district, teachers, administrators, and even those at our district office.

I saw the need for teachers and staff wanting to be more connected, so Joy’s jewelry made it happen.

This led me into a completely new creative outlet. Custom earrings, bracelets and necklaces while still keeping everything at a relatively cheap yet competitive price.

Marché cible

When I am creating the earrings, I make sure I hit a multitude of audiences. I want everyone to find something that they can afford and enjoy. This is why I use both dangly pieces and sticks to hit all the age ranges.

My stud designs are best for the elementary and middle school age children, as well as the student athletes in high school who are looking for something lightweight yet still bright and representing their style.

My personal brand and logo designs allow teachers, Secretaries, Principals, District-level personnel, and parents to feel connected and a part of a unified team.

Impact sociétal

Prochaines étapes

Regardless of this amazing opportunity, I hope to be able to support my business within the next 1-2 years of my business journey in these areas.

I want to prepare for upcoming events, such as summer craft show events, by purchasing a portable battery and new/more display pieces to better attract customers to my table.

As well as increase my online presence through advertising and marketing, boosting posts through social media, and creating engagement with future customers.

New materials to advance products:
new clay cutters
Silk screen for new designs and patterns
new Dremel tips and pieces to increase efficiency in the creative making process

One long-term and game-changing purchase that I hope to one day achieve is a 3D printer. I would love the opportunity to create my own clay cutters, This will allow me to have complete flexibility and control in shape, thickness, durability, and size when designing.

This was a fantastic pitch! You showed how informed you are about the market space you are entering by understanding and adding in the gamification that comes with your mascot.

Your video is grate and shows how much work you have put in to a Cotten candy business! I did get lost when reading the written submission as it covers skin care products and not cotton candy. This discrepancy made the pitch unclear but a simple update and clarification would get you back on track in no time.
