Welcome to the SMSD Student Chamber's Business Showcase! This is an inspiring business competition designed to highlight PK-12 students who run REAL businesses in the Shawnee Mission School District. The top five business owners with the most votes and highest judge ratings will present their business ideas to a panel of esteemed judges and a vibrant audience on April 30.
Awards at the live April 30 Business Showcase are:
1st Place: $1,100
2nd Place: $600
3rd Place: $300
Students are challenged to answer the following questions with their pitch:
Part 1: Describe the problem and products/services that you are selling (including pricing).
Part 2: Describe your target market.
Part 3: Customer Reach/Channels
Part 4: Competition and what makes you different?

I am a student at Shawnee Mission South High School. I am in 10th Grade and I am doing this because I am taking Entrepreneurship class, but im also looking forward to have a business in the future. After High School, I want to go to college and study in some type of Engineering degree. After or while being in college I would like to create a business in Real Estate. Im interested in Real Estate because my parents have a small business like that where they buy homes that are in bad shape, fix them, and then they sell or rent them. I found it interesting too so I would like to continue their business or create a whole new one.
Problème
Problem: People need places to live therefore they need homes, people have families so they need shelter,
homes for protection from the environment, and Real Estate is a high demand business

Solution
Customers: Adults 25-34 in the KC Metro who are Looking to get started in life with buying or renting a home.
Marché cible
Channels: I would communicate with my customers with Facebook, Word of Mouth, Instagram, Yard signs, and Zillow.
Impact sociétal
Competitors: I would compete with Zillow, Realtor.com, and Platinum Reality.
What makes me different is I will make Quality Homes, its Family Owned, I am a young Entrepreneur, I would have skilled workers, I would pay attention to details, and I also have my parents who have experience in this business.

I think what I need would need guidance on how to move forward and how to start a business and how it all works, like the legal process and everything.
