Competition Brief

ProX is a Real World Learning initiative providing summer professional experiences for high school students.

About

Our employer is KC Pet Project, a nonprofit charitable organization operating the KC Campus for Animal Care, Kansas City, Missouri’s animal shelter. They care for more than 10,000 animals each year and focus on progressive programs to help people keep their pets through lost and found services, Keep ‘Em Together, KC program, and pet safety initiatives like microchipping, pet identification, and more.

Problem

Our goal is to reduce the count of dogs in the shelter and educate pet owners on pet handling and care.

Solution

We would like to make subscription boxes filled with materials, necessities, and information about how to train and care for your pet. We call it the K9 Care Kit. This is an effective way to help users and pets have a stable connection and prevent dogs from returning to the shelter or being stray.

Audience | Target Market

Dogs who arrive and are currently in the shelter.

Learning Outcomes  |  Community Impact

Our solution will have an impact on users now and in the future because it will be a type of awareness and healthy lifestyle for their pet.

Next Steps

Our next step for this mission to become a reality is buying the materials needed.

 Reflection  |  Other Info

It has taught us about trial and error, as well as being innovative.

Resource  |  Support Needs

We are not currently accepting contributions from our voters. This pitch is part of the ProX competition for $5,000. The funding will make this into a real product for the shelter.

This was a fantastic pitch! You showed how informed you are about the market space you are entering by understanding and adding in the gamification that comes with your mascot.

Your video is grate and shows how much work you have put in to a Cotten candy business! I did get lost when reading the written submission as it covers skin care products and not cotton candy. This discrepancy made the pitch unclear but a simple update and clarification would get you back on track in no time.
