Overview
The "Best Boat Design for 3rd Grade Science" pitch competition is an exciting opportunity for young innovators to dive into the world of engineering and creativity. This competition challenges third-grade students to design and build their own miniature boats using a variety of materials such as cardboard, plastic bottles, and popsicle sticks. The goal is to create a boat that not only floats but can also carry a small load across a water-filled basin. Students will explore fundamental scientific concepts such as buoyancy, density, and balance through hands-on experimentation and iterative design processes. This competition encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork, as students work together in teams to brainstorm, construct, and refine their boat designs.
