Overview

Invent a tool, game, or app that helps people understand the weather better. You could design a fun weather app, a new weather station, or a cool experiment!

About

We love watching the weather! We use it to predict if we will get to go outside for recess each day. It plays an important role in helping us dress appropriately for the day ahead. We would like to purchase some new equipment to help us watch the weather and keep track of it.

Part 1:

Students do not know how to connect the weather to in order to plan for their day.

Part 2:

Students will practice learning about the weather and leading weather reports so they can learn how to prepare for their day.

Part 3:

Students in school

Part 4:

This impacts a student personally as they will gain independence and learn how to share their knowledge with younger students.

Next Steps

Identify different kinds of weather during each season. Learn to read a thermometer and what each temperature means for dress.

Other Information

Students loved being a weather reporter and choosing which clothing would be appropriate for the weather each day.
