About

The problem is that there is a lack of DE&l in most workplaces. The lack of diversity only allows for one perspective and can create bias in the workplace. When you include people from all backgrounds it allows for growth and improvement within organizations. Research shows the majority experiencing these conflicts/discriminations are African Americans, Indians, Latinos/Latinas, Asian Americans, and people who identify as LGBTQIA+. People who've experienced discrimination because of their lack of inclusion may have encountered trauma from their past work experience(s). My solution is to implement trauma-informed care into organizations that lack diversity to improve the workplace environment. Trauma- informed care is when all parties involved recognize and respond to the impact of traumatic stress of those who have had certain experiences in past workplaces. The audience is organizations who will implement trauma-informed care in the workplace. The next step would be to implement trauma-informed care throughout various organizations, so that employees can be informed and sensitive to those experiencing discrimination in the workplace.
