Competition Brief
Enterprise and Design is a program where students get regular high school credits but are earning it through client connected projects. We match them with industry professionals (clients) and they work with teams to complete real world projects with actual problems that those clients need to have solved and they come up with solutions and pitch those ideas.
About Us

Problem
Our subject matter expert, Jess Magana, a biology professor at UMKC, challenged us to research more about invasive species.
Solution
Our team focused on where invasive species are and what they do to the environment. For our showcase, we created an interactive globe for audience members to pick a species for us to talk about.
Target Market
Societal Impact
Our audience members will learn about what invasive species are, where they come from, how they harm the enviroment, and how to counter them.
Next Steps
We still need to get the rest of the pictures for the globe and finish our map.
Our Schools and Districts
Almost everything has really gone right for us! We've worked hard to get to where we are and are able to work together really well. We've sometimes struggled with keeping everyone on the team on task, but have worked to communicate a little bit more.
Use of Backer Contributions
We only ask that people attend our showcase on June 29 from 9:30-10:30 and 12:00-1:00. Business partners interested in working with our students on future projects, please contact our Director of Community Partnerships, Jake Wingo, at jake.wingo@raypec.org.
