About Us
TJ Roberts is the solo-preneur / owner of Kinship Cafe, a black owned coffee shop in KCK. They provide a safe space for everyone with great food, great coffee and event nights to bring the community together.
Problem
How might we inform the Wyandotte community of Kinship and let them know that the café is a place of healing and good coffee?
Solution
Our solution is outdoor signs and reaching out directly to the community. TJ wants to bring more people in and displaying the name of the coffee shop will let more people know he's there. In addition, flyers will capture the attention of walkers and the people who live in Strawberry Hill.
Target Market
The main people affected by the lack of signage outside kinship are the people who are in need of a safe space.
Societal Impact
Users now and in the future would know that there's a nearby coffee shop. Kinship wouldn't be just a building you pass because you don't know what it is, rather, it would be a building people want to come into because they know what it is.
Next Steps
To make our idea a reality, we will need the help of Wyandotte County and the help of Pro X.
Our Schools and Districts
I have had a great time working at Kinship. I've learned good communication comes from where, when, why and how, to take initiative and gained marketing skills.
Use of Backer Contributions
We are not currently accepting contributions from our voters. This pitch is part of the ProX competition for $5,000. We would use the money for the items in our pitch, flyers and business cards.
Thank you to our supporters!
