Competition Brief

ProX is a Real World Learning initiative providing summer professional experiences for high school students.

About

Our employer is the Unified Government. They are a local government located in Wyandotte County and are responsible for the majority of things that happen in Wyandotte County. They provide many services and bring a lot of value to the community. They are the decision makers for the county and provide services like transportation, and programs such as PAL.

Problem

The problem we are solving is that people from Wyandotte County are leaving the county and going to other cities or states. This brings the question, "How might we retain youth to live, work, and raise a family in Wyandotte county?"

Solution

Our solution is to build an amusement park in Wyandotte County that will give access to many youth and families to a place of entertainment. This helps solve the leaving of residents from Wyandotte County because we are specifically targeting youth to come to amusement parks and have fun. It also provides jobs and will give families an opportunity to do something fun in Wyandotte County.

Audience | Target Market

The main people affected by the problem are youth who will eventually leave Wyandotte County in the future due to lack of entertainment and other reasons. The population of Wyandotte county in the next 10 to 20 years will mainly consist of the current Wyandotte County youth.

Learning Outcomes  |  Community Impact

Our solution not only brings entertainment but it also has an economic impact due to jobs being created.

Next Steps

We will need the requested amount of money. That will allow us to begin the construction of the amusement park. It will be completed in 1-2 years.

 Reflection  |  Other Info

Working with the Unified Government has opened up so many doors for us. It allowed us to learn about our own county and the needs and wants of the community. It showed us different aspects of topics like homelessness. It made not only our soft skills but adaptive skills a lot better. Working with people we are not familiar with and having to take the leadership role during certain times.

Resource  |  Support Needs

We are not currently accepting contributions from our voters. This pitch is part of the ProX competition for $5,000. If possible, we would like to make the amusement park a reality but keeping in mind that implementing a multi-million dollar project will be difficult. We would make sure we keep our promise and make sure that, with the funding we get, we would only use that money to make the community a better place. Giving back to the community would be the best thing to do with the funding we would get.

You’ve done an excellent job with your FocusFlow pitch! Your ability to clearly articulate the problem and present a well-thought-out solution is impressive. The integration of the Pomodoro Technique with white noise is a smart approach, as it draws on proven methods to address common productivity challenges. Your detailed plan for moving the project forward, including market research, the development of an MVP, and strategic marketing efforts, shows a strong understanding of what it takes to bring an innovative product to market. I also appreciate your awareness of potential challenges, such as market differentiation and scalability, and your consideration of strategies to overcome them. Keep up the great work, and continue refining your strategy as you gather more feedback—your proactive approach is a key strength!

Your perspective is incredibly insightful! Highlighting the calendar as the greatest invention ever demonstrates remarkable depth. You've identified how it plays a crucial role in organizing our daily lives, influencing agricultural cycles, and shaping cultures worldwide. Your appreciation for such a fundamental concept truly reflects your keen awareness of how timekeeping structures our world. Keep up the great work, Evan!
