Competition Brief
Enterprise and Design is a program where students get regular high school credits but are earning it through client connected projects. We match them with industry professionals (clients) and they work with teams to complete real world projects with actual problems that those clients need to have solved and they come up with solutions and pitch those ideas.
About
Pink Glitter Sparkles: You Are What You Eat: PIerre B, Mikayla M, Alyssa H, Grace K, Katie B
Problem
Our SME Eliane Moore wanted us to look into how BBQ reflects the culture around them
Solution
We researched how Kansas City's BBQ reflects KC's culture and how it came to be. For our showcase we are doing a taste test of six Kansas City area barbeque sauces. For our showcase we researched how KC's bbq reflects the culture of KC and how KC BBQ came to be. We are also sampling 6 different sauces and having people vote on KC's Masterpiece.
Audience | Target Market
Learning Outcomes | Community Impact
It will help our community come to an agreement on the best sauce in KC and bring them together.
Next Steps
We still need to create our tri-fold and complete the portrait of a graduate.
Reflection | Other Info
We have learned that sometimes it may be difficult to work with unmotivated people but communication has been our key to success and we have come together to make a great presentation.
Resource | Support Needs
We only ask that people attend our showcase on June 29 from 9:30-10:30 and 12:00-1:00. Business partners interested in working with our students on future projects, please contact our Director of Community Partnerships, Jake Wingo, at jake.wingo@raypec.org.
