Ray-Pec Enterprise & Design

Competition Brief

Enterprise and Design is a program where students get regular high school credits but are earning it through client connected projects. We match them with industry professionals (clients) and they work with teams to complete real world projects with actual problems that those clients need to have solved and they come up with solutions and pitch those ideas.

About

Pumpkin Patch: Discovery and Domination: Luther A, Jaden W, Vincent B, Alexander P, Te'Vierre K

Problem

Our subject matter expert, Jess Magana, a biology professor at UMKC, challenged us to learn more about invasive species and how they work and travel.

Solution

For our showcase we created a book to display all of the information we gathered.

Audience | Target Market

Learning Outcomes  |  Community Impact

Our audience will know more about how invasive species tend to be territorial and depending on land, sea, or bacterial disease, it impacts how it travels and spreads.

Next Steps

We still need to work on creating our book and putting more information in it.

 Reflection  |  Other Info

We did a great job gathering information and putting the tri-fold together. We struggled with getting everyon on the same page on our team. We overcame that by communicating often with all teammates.

Resource  |  Support Needs

We only ask that people attend our showcase on June 29 from 9:30-10:30 and 12:00-1:00. Business partners interested in working with our students on future projects, please contact our Director of Community Partnerships, Jake Wingo, at jake.wingo@raypec.org.
