Competition Brief

Enterprise and Design is a program where students get regular high school credits but are earning it through client connected projects. We match them with industry professionals (clients) and they work with teams to complete real world projects with actual problems that those clients need to have solved and they come up with solutions and pitch those ideas.

About

Our team, The Pretty Committee has been working with RP Foundations

Problem

Food drives are are common way for people to "clean out their pantry". The reason for a food drive is to provide food for those who are unable to provide food themselves. Our job is to have a food drive that not only gathers product for those families in need but nutritional and good foods that students will get excited to have.

Solution

We categorized each day into different food groups to make sure that we are collecting a variety of different foods. We also listed examples of the food we are thinking of so they don't bring things like mushrooms or asparagus, which aren't the most popular student foods.

Next Steps

We are now in a waiting period as we are seeing how well the first week of the food drive does. If successful, we will continue what we are doing currently. If there isn't as much food as we predicted, we will find a new way to advertise the drive like sending out emails that have more detail or making a video for the teachers to show their students.

 Reflection  |  Other Info

Communicating with the teachers and principals was probably the hardest because our times of availability were different so we weren't able to get immediate responses. Creating the food categories and people following the instructions is going very well.
