Welcome to the SMSD Student Chamber's Business Showcase! This is an inspiring business competition designed to highlight PK-12 students who run REAL businesses in the Shawnee Mission School District. The top five business owners with the most votes and highest judge ratings will present their business ideas to a panel of esteemed judges and a vibrant audience on April 30.

Awards at the live April 30 Business Showcase are:

1st Place: $1,100
2nd Place: $600
3rd Place: $300

About

I started my Detailing Business in may of last year , just started cleaning my parents and family members cars. I would charge nothing because it would be practice work but once my name started to get out there , i had more and more clients coming in more than i thought i would have. November was a good month to me i had been booked out for a week straight clients coming in left and right , but then December came and slowed down things and im starting to get it back up. Its always been my passion , i like cars , i like cleaning them and also working on them. This year im going in stronger then last.

Part 1:

My business is offering Detailing services , basic interior detail for $50 or full interior detail for $120-$200
basic exterior detail for $50 or full exterior detail for $100-$150

Part 2:

I would give out my flyers to people who love taking care of there cars , trucks and atvs. people love there cars cleaned during the summer and washed, these people may be around overland park or within a 2 hour drive , also would give it to people with businesses

Part 3:

I would use Tiktok and facebook , facebook marketplace putting up listings offering my services . I would drive to the houses and hand them out or offer a free exterior detail in the big houses to get a good word of mouth.

Part 4:

My competitors are KC Detailing , Sunshine Details and Fleet Details.They have been ongoing for couple years now. I offer quality work and im very good with my time i can do multiple cars on a day

Next Steps

i would need a job around here or in kck , since i would need to buy more tools and also i would need more clients.
